Mamta is an 18 year old HIV+ positive girl. She came to the Arias Home of HOPE when she was just 8 years old. She lost her parents to HIV/AIDS and her grandmother was the sole care taker however due to old age, she was unable to take care of Mamta and thus left her at Arias HOME in 2010. Since then, Mamta has been living in the home. She could not complete her X Std. as she was unable to cope with her studies. Consumption of ART medications impacted her capacity to retain information of subject studied, thus in spite of repeated attempts, she was unable to complete her board exams and studies.
HOPE foundation works towards building the skills of every child and thus encourages them to learn some or the other skill building course of their interest that would help them earn a descent livelihood once they are rehabilitated back into the community.
Since Mamtha could not study further, she was enrolled for tailoring/sewing courses. Mamtha has a liking towards stitching and sewing and instantly picked up this skill. She is attending online training on learning how to stitch and sew.
We are very happy and full of gratitude for your ongoing support that’s helps HOPE foundation to help build the lives of children who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
