Though all the schools and establishments were closed down through 2020 due to COVID-19 spread lockdown, the orphanages run/supported by HOPE foundation had to function continuously 24*7. By obtaining proper permission for the Government departments, all the staff of the orphanages devotedly took care of the children by having a daily schedule engaging them in various activities without allowing them to get into boredom. As the children were confined to the premises of the orphanages, virtual volunteering was opened up and over 25+ volunteers signed up to engage the children from different parts of India, US, Canada etc., The volunteers had the opportunity to engage the children in the orphanages through various activities such as painting, art & craftwork, drawing, basket weaving, baking, teaching computers, stitching, gardening, conducting motivational sessions etc.,
