Helping children inch closer to their dreams

By namratha | Program manager

Impact of COVID-19 has shaken the world to its core and one of the sectors that has been worst hit by the nation-wide lockdown is the education sector. Since the lockdown in India came into effect on 24th March, all the schools are shutdown, exams got postponed and in many cases, results also got delayed.

For the academic year 2019-20, 3 children from all the 3 homes wrote their 12th Board exam. Efforts were taken to ensure continuity in studies so that the students do not lose the track of their studies. Consuming medicines for HIV/AIDS can make an adverse impact on the children and undue stress can trigger complications but positive motivation and encouragement from the Home Managers helped children to be focused.

Of 3 children, 2 passed. One boy Anand has taken admission for Bsc Visual communications while the other one Gokul has taken admission for ECE branch in polytechnic. Kausalya who could not clear her exams and plans to take up a course of beautician.

We thank each one of you for all the support extended from your end, that enables HOPE foundation for providing continuous care and love by the staff irrespective of the challenges faced by them due to COVID-19 imposed lock down.
