In the orphanage situated in Trichy, HOPE foundation has started a new initiative called “The Hope Nature Club”. This club is started with an objective to inculcate the importance of organic farming and to teach the basics of agriculture to the children.
This club is started with the guidance of Mr. George, CEO of “The Turning Tide” as he was engaged to teach the children the basics of agriculture. Mr. George, specializes in soil management and treatment. He conducted practical classes and helped the children to plant lots of vegetables and fruit trees in the orphanage premises.
He paid regualr visits to the orphange and guided the children in taking care of the plants and the trees. The vegetable seeds which were sown in October 2022, started yielding by March, 2023. Just in four months, the team harvested 71 Kgs of vegetables. These vegetables were cooked deliciously by the staff and served to the children. Setting up a vegetable garden & the yield brought much happiness to the children. We look forward to have this activity of nurturing and caring for the vegetable garden in contributing to the self-sustainability of the orphanage in future.
We take this time to "THANK YOU" for believeing in HOPE foundation and providing your continued support in helping the children of the orphanages grow holistically.
