Translation complete!
By Lizzie LaCroix | Project Facilitator
Dear supporters,
We are happy to announce that the Mongolian translation of A Health Handbook for Women with Disabilities is completed!
Thank you so much to everyone who has given to and shared this campaign--we couldn't have done it without you! We will continue running the campaign until August 22nd, at which time we will close and send all the remaining funds to MNAWU to cover the costs of printing copies of A Health Handbook so that it can be made available to disabled women, their families, and clinics that serve disabled women's needs.
We look forward at that time to sending a final report on the project's success and impact.
Sincerely,
Lizzie

How do Books Help?
By Lizzie LaCroix | Project Facilitator
The view from the ground is often the best way to understand why health information is important and vital to a community. Ada Van Vilet, a volunteer with the Mongolian National Association of Wheelchair Users, describes the situation this way:
“There is no book available in Mongolia about health issues which disabled women face. Healthcare and social workers have no idea how to communicate with women in wheelchairs and how to help them to overcome their problems and improve their lives. The result is that many women have trouble finding and asking for the help they need. We have to let Mongolians know the special needs these women have and we need to let these women know about the opportunities and their rights for specific care.”
Any money raised by this campaign will make these books a reality. Each book will touch the lives of an average of 60 women--who in turn will share their newfound knowledge with many more. We hope you will share this campaign, and help MNAWU meet their goal!
