Dear partners,
Cold exposure is a direct trigger for sickle cell crises. During rainy season nights and early Harmattan mornings, temperatures drop sharply across Northern Nigeria. In displacement camps, children sleep in uninsulated tents with no protection from the cold, leading to painful crises that could have been prevented.
Your support is helping us distribute warm clothing, blankets, and insulated coverings to sickle cell children who face these harsh conditions. These items reduce cold exposure, stabilize body temperature, and prevent nighttime crises.
With additional donations, we can reach more families, prepare for the upcoming Harmattan season, and ensure that no child sleeps exposed to cold air. A warm blanket can mean the difference between a peaceful night and a painful emergency.
