By Elizabeth Elachi | Project Leader
Dear partners,
Thank you for your generous support toward this mission. Because of your kindness, we are now positioned to deliver immediate, lifesaving care to sickle cell children living in crisishit and displaced communities. Your donations are already making a tangible difference for families who have struggled for years without access to proper treatment.
In the coming days, once GlobalGiving disburses the next round of funds, we will begin active radio advocacy across Northern Nigeria. Radio remains one of the most powerful tools for reaching rural communities, and this program will help us educate thousands of caregivers about the prevalence of sickle cell disease, how to recognize early warning signs, and how to support their children during painful crises. This awareness effort will complement our medical outreach and ensure families have the knowledge they need to act quickly and confidently.
At the same time, our medical team is preparing to commence Mobile Clinic visits to displacement camps, where we will provide urgent care for sickle cell children who have gone far too long without treatment. We are also partnering with hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacies to ensure essential medicines — including hydroxyurea — reach every child who needs them.
Your generosity is opening these doors for vulnerable children who urgently need care and information. I will return shortly with updates from the field — and from our radio broadcasts — so you can see the impact your kindness is making.
Thank you for standing with these children. Your support is changing lives.
