Keep 500 Sick Kids Alive in Crisis-Hit Communities

Dear Partners,

I just wanted to thank you for your charitable donations to this cause. With your donation, we are now able to deliver immediate, lifesaving care to sickle cell children in crisishit and displaced communities. 

In the coming days, our medical team will begin Mobile Clinic visits to displacement camps where we will be providing immediate care for these kids. In addition, we are also partnering with hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacies to ensure that essential medicines  including hydroxyurea reach every child who needs them.

Hydroxyurea is one of the simplest but most powerful interventions for a child with sickle cell disease. It reduces painful crises, prevents dangerous infections, significantly reduces the need for costly blood transfusion. For a child who has lived with constant pain, the difference is dramatic fewer hospital visits, more days in school, and a chance to simply be a child again.
