Healing Venezuela responds to the severe levels of infant malnutrition that Venezuela has faced since 2016. We provide infant formula to babies under 12 months whose mothers cannot breastfeed, as well as nutritional supplements to children and adolescents who suffer from acute malnutrition. Through this campaign, we want to continue helping Venezuelan children and babies by extending our program to new beneficiaries across the country. Help us support the leaders of the future!
Venezuela is currently facing a complex humanitarian emergency that has forced 5.4 million people to flee the country. Among those who have stayed, one out of three is food insecure, and at least 26% of Venezuelan children suffer from malnutrition. Under-5 morbidity and mortality rates are on the rise, and infants are born into a reality where food scarcity is the norm rather than the exception.
AID FOR LIFE provides infant formula to babies aged 0 to 12 months, whose mothers can't or should not breastfeed due to health conditions, as well as to orphaned and abandoned children. We also provide nutritional supplements to children and adolescents aged 1 to 17 who suffer from or are at a heightened risk of developing malnutrition. Through close cooperation with nutritionists, pediatricians and health centers, we ensure that Venezuelan children get all the nutrients they need to grow!
It is proven that the first years of life are critical for the psychological and physical development of children. Therefore, by addressing the nutritional needs of Venezuelan babies and children, we improve their well-being and ensure their adequate brain and cognitive development. So far, we have provided nutritional support to 2.000 infants across Venezuela and distributed 5.000 nutritional supplements to children with moderate acute malnutrition.
