Overview
Healing Japan (HJ) is about building a capcity for trauma-care, PTSD prevention, coping and resilience in Japan by using foreign and local knowledge and methods. In the past 4 years, more than 3,500 Japanese survivors, disaster supporters, and mental health professional have participated in HJ trainings.
Progress Report
Since the project was approved thanks to your kind support, Healing Japan has reached to 372 survivors, disaster-supporters and Mental Health professionals in Tohoku (Ishinomaki, Tome, Rikuzentakata, Sendai) and in Tokyo.
Since our last report (June 15, 2015) the Healing Japan time provided 174 direct client interactions to 174.
Five specialists contributed to the program : Mr. Taiyo Okada, Dr. Shlomit Bresler, Dr. Inoue Takayo, Dr. Nakatani Mihoko, and Ms. Tami Gavron.

Beneficiaries output
"It was exciting 2 days. I felt like I became an innocent kid to play. I’ve got power from it. " (Rikuzetakata workshop participant, August 2015).
"I could let go of my negative feeling easily through expressing my feelings and mind by using colours and shape." (Sendai workshop with a group of diaster-supporters, August 2015).
This upcoming month, Dr. Amia Lieblich a narrative psycholgist and oral history expert will visit Japan and workshops are scheduled to be held in Ishinomaki, Sendai and Tokyo.
