Overview
Healing Japan (HJ) is about building a capcity for trauma-care, PTSD prevention, coping and resilience in Japan by using foreign and local knowledge and methods. In the past 4 years, more than 3,500 Japanese survivors, disaster supporters, and mental health professional have participated in HJ trainings.
Progress Report
Since the project was approved thanks to your kind support, Healing Japan has reached to 198 survivors, disaster-supporters and Mental Health professionals in Tohoku (Ishinomaki, Tome, Sendai) and in Tokyo.
Through theoretical and experiential learning process, we introduced and fine-tuned beneficiaries' knoweldge in Dance Movement, Group Facilitation skills, Empathy, and Family Therapy.
Five specialists contributed to the program : Ms. Smadar Korn (March), Prof. Ariela Friedman (April), Dr. Haviva Ayal (May) Prof. Inoue Takayo (May), and Ms. Nobue Kunito (June).
Beneficiaries output
This upcoming month, Dr. Shlomit Bresler, a group therapist and bibiltherapist will visit Japan and workshops are scheduled to be held in Ishinomaki, Sendai, Ashinaga Rainbow House, and Tokyo.
