Healing Hands Foundation's Shelter currently only caters for women in crisis, victims of GBV. We can only take in 14 women and their children. We are limited with space. We are in urgent need of purchasing a bigger property which we have seen at 16 Darling Street and Corner Craig Street. The owner of the building wants 2, 000 000 rands for thgis building and if purchased we can cater for at least 550 people + in the building which is 4 storeys high.
There will be various projrams available at this center which will cater for the vulnerable groups in society who have no where to go or unskilled people. It will be a temporary place providing shelter, basic needs such as showers, 2 x meals per day, toiletries, skills programs, intense counseling and rehabilitation programs.
Counseling with famillies and reintergration into society once the have the skills and the knowlege to become responsible citizens so they can go back in to society or to famillies and claim their lives back. There will also be follow up sessions to see if they have adapted to the new life and are coping with the change. Most importantly they will be having a chuch involved every day so they can find God again in their lives.
The Shelter is needed urgently as the number is growing outside with the unemployment rate being so high and the incident rates climbing daily. Coming on board as a donor will help reach our goals in meeting the needs of our people in the Metro. Let us take hands in changing the lives of the most vulnerable people in the World. Your support can change lives.
