Project Report | Aug 29, 2023
Food Garden Community Project

By Bellinda Suleman | Public Relations Officer

We have received 2400 seedlings from Food and Trees for Africa which was devided amongst the school gardens projects and our garden at Healing Hands Foundation's GVB Shelter. Cabages, Cauliflower, Beetroot, Kale, Spinach, Mustard Spinach. We will be receiving 100 fruit trees and shade trees soon which will also be planted at schools which we have identified. 2 Old Age Homes have been identified for food garden projects which will be done this coming Saturday the 2nd of September.

We still need tools, tanks, fencing, sheds for havesting, tables and other equipment for our gardening projects. Creating these gardens will help soup kitchens and communittees to become self sustaining and help people to heal at the same time eleviating poverty. Poverty has become to bigest contributer to alcohol abuse, substance abuse, seperation of famillies, child abuse and more. If people are taught how plant and harvest their own food, it will make life a little better and they can be proud of their gardens. It is also good for the environment.

The idea is to promote green living, health contious society, healthy living, better tommorow, giving hope to vulnerable, creating better and responsible societies.
