Healing Hands has been receiving a large no of incedents and victims of GBV. With the rise in crime and poverty in South Africa, there are more victims in need of assistance. Stress and poverty leads to alcohol and substance abuse which offcourse then becomes a health hazard in communities.
Everyday we receive numerous calls for assistance with GVB and indecent assault. We also have doctors beyong borders helping on Wednesdays with gbv victims and assault victims who come for assistance and those in our shelter. The current shelter is very small and there is a huge challenge for a bigger shelter so that we can accomodate and render assistance in large numbers. The building is available. The problem is finding recsouces to secure this building for the Proposed Project which is vital in bringing a change in the lives of our clients. We are seeking partners to take hands in the fight against poverty, gbv, and behavioral change, for those seeking a better life and ensuring safety of victims as well creating a better society for all in the Nelson Mandela Metro.
