Since posting the project on the website and utilizing the GlobalGiving platform, we were able to secure a total of 422.46 USD in donations from generous individual donors and GlobalGiving Awards. Although the amount raised was below our original target, it represents a significant achievement for our organization, especially as beginners in these fundraising approaches.
With the total 422.46 USD disbursed to our organization, we successfully purchased biscuits, tea bag, cookies, small bottled water, small juice drinks, and sugar to support internally displaced (IDP) children at the Sheraro and Mai-Tsebri Child Friendly Spaces (CFS), as well as those participating in karate training activities. These supplies enabled us to provide nutritious snacks and tea for more than two months.
As a result, we were able to diversify the activities offered within the CFS and ensure that children consistently received refreshments during their participation. This support significantly increased the time children spent engaged in structured, positive activities, contributing to their overall well-being, motivation, and psychosocial development.
Furthermore, the intervention has contributed the confidence and sense of belongingness with the host community among the IDP children. For instance, during the World AIDS Day awareness raising event organized in Sheraro local stadium, Martial Art training participant IDP children in Sheraro CFS has invited to present their show in the Stadium and it was a memorable moment the children.
OSSHD sincerely extends its heartfelt gratitude to the GlobalGiving team for their valuable financial support and strong commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children. Their contribution has played a meaningful role in enhancing the well-being, motivation, and protection outcomes of children in Sheraro and Mai-Tsebri.
