Project Report
Over the past few months, the Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) has continued its commitment to creating safer and more inclusive environments for Deaf women and girls across Punjab. With the support of our partners and sponsors, we have been organizing and conducting harassment awareness sessions in workplaces, local communities, educational institutions, and community centers.
These sessions are designed to help Deaf women and girls recognize different forms of harassment, understand their rights, build self-confidence, and learn how to seek support and report incidents safely. To ensure a broader impact, we also engage parents, teachers, employers, and community members, as creating safe environments requires collective responsibility.
Our awareness activities are delivered in accessible formats using Pakistan Sign Language, visual presentations, and interactive discussions, enabling Deaf participants to fully understand and actively participate. The response has been encouraging, with participants sharing their experiences, asking important questions, and expressing greater confidence in protecting themselves and supporting others.
By working closely with schools, workplaces, local communities, and corporate and institutional partners, DWAF is strengthening a network of support that promotes dignity, respect, and equal opportunities for Deaf women and girls.
We remain committed to expanding these awareness sessions to reach even more communities across Punjab and are grateful to our GlobalGiving donors and partners for helping us empower Deaf women with knowledge, confidence, and hope for a safer future.
