Happy Meals for 500 Hungry Children

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your donation to our project providing much-needed meals for 500 young children. Young children need nutritional support in order for them to grow healthy and well and do well as adults later on. Our approach before in providing meals is direct support but we changed our strategy from providing food to letting families grow their own food. In this way, they are able to feed themselves on a long-term basis. Food growing in the home have multiple benefits like exercise for the family, having nutritious vegetables that are not treated with insecticides, income from surplus and many other benefits. This reporting period we are able to support 35 families in this manner and we want to increase this number in the coming months. Again thank you very much.

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your support to our initiative providing happy meals for children. In the past we provided poor children directly with meals and during this time we changed our approach to let their parents grow their own food in their backyards. In so doing they have their own food resource whole year round. We train them on how to use their own resources like organic fertilizer in the growing of food. Most of our beneficiaries like the idea and they are implementing what we teach them. We provide inputs like seeds which is difficult to procure. We were able to engage 115 beneficiaries during this time and they are starting to grow their own food. We will continue to provide technical assistance as well as small farming inputs so that this initiative continue.
