Things are well under way for Hand Day 2018 and planning for Hand Day 2019. We cannot thank all donors to our project enough! The first two sites for 2018 were Nashville and Memphis. In Nashville, 10 patients received free hand surgery. In Memphis, 8 patients received free hand surgery. Patients who received care were uninsured or underinsured and would otherwise not have been able to receive surgery. All patients were very grateful and all volunteers felt they received more from the experience than they gave.
The next locations are Dayton and Colorado Springs. They will provide free surgeries in the coming weeks. We recently had a meeting with organizers from Dayton and they are in their final preparations of reminding patients about their upcoming surgeries and coordinating details of the day. Colorado Springs was recently featured by a local news program and that has helped spread the word about their day. In November, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and San Francisco will all host their Hand Day. We are getting excited and we thank you for your support of our project!
