Access to clean and safe drinking water remains a major challenge for many poor and marginalized communities in Pakistan, particularly in rural areas of Sindh. Families often travel long distances to fetch water from unsafe sources, exposing them to waterborne diseases and increasing the burden on women, children, older persons, and persons with disabilities. NDF Pakistan believes that access to clean water is a basic human right. Together, we can ensure that no family is left behind
Millions of people in Pakistan, particularly in rural and remote areas, lack access to safe and reliable drinking water. In Sindh Province, many poor families depend on contaminated ponds, canals, or distant water sources for their daily needs. Women, children, older persons, and persons with disabilities often spend hours each day collecting water, exposing themselves to health risks and limiting opportunities for education, employment, and social participation.
NDF Pakistan seeks to address this challenge by installing household and community hand pumps that provide safe, accessible, and sustainable sources of drinking water for poor and marginalized families. This project will improve health, dignity, and quality of life while strengthening community resilience to water scarcity and climate-related challenges.
