The Red Thread Promise is conducting a supply drive in support of the Rivers of Hope orphanage in Manothe, Haiti, and will travel to the orphanage to assess the current medical needs of the children.
Haiti is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere with an 80% unemployment level and 54% of the population living on less than $1 per day. Children in Haiti are at great risk with almost three out of every ten dying before their fifth birthday. The staff at the Rivers of Hope orphanage works miracles with very little funding and the money raised here will have a profound impact on the lives of the children, providing basic medical and hygiene needs.
We will deliver the medical supplies during our May trip to the orphanage, in which we will assess the current medical needs of the children to see if any need further assistance from The Red Thread Promise.
