Finally, we're halfway to our fundraising goal! It's been a long road, and we're not done, but we have reached a significant milestone. Now that we've achieved $2 million of our $4 million goal, we are able to put our project out to bid. We are able to now go talk to those company representatives who have promised us gifts of their services in helping with the building construction. We are able to write grant proposals to foundations which required us to have half our funding in place before submitting a request.
Next steps are for us to secure a general contractor and put the project out to bid. Once we know some of those details we'll be able to approach those companies who offered gifts in kind. We are hoping to work on the planning for the remainder of 2013. We hope to break ground next spring and be able to occupy by the fall.
While this is an exciting development, we still have a long way to go. We still need considerable support to make this vital project a reality.
