Growing young leaders and trees

On March 7^th, 2015 El Segundo held its 28^th Annual Arbor Day Celebration. With the Tree Musketeers Youth Management team at the helm the event was planned and executed with both excitement and ease. Over 330 volunteers, tall and small, came to lend a hand; some with their families and colleagues, while others came alone and left with friends. But most importantly we planted and cared for trees.

Over 60 Ponderosa and Afghan Pines were planted along the Imperial corridor here in El Segundo. Ten tree planting teams and eight tree care teams were each led by trained Youth Planting Supervisors. Some of these teams consisted of volunteers from our corporate sponsors and others with all youth volunteers but we we made sure to remind everyone that at Tree Musketeers KIDS ARE BOSS! Everyone was happy to be under the direction of our youth leaders and the event went smoothly.

What’s next for Growing Young Leaders and Trees here at our El Segundo headquarters? We have our Summer Youth Management Series coming up. The three part series includes People Skills, Personal Skills and Management Skills. We also have our Public Speaking course for both the gregarious teenager and the young introvert. If you know of anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 who would benefit from leadership training, an expanded social circle, community service and positive role models send them our way! We would love to get them involved.
