At Clementine Foundation we make vulnerable elderly people and Ukrainian refugees life better through everyday visits, activities for children, running food aid programs, prepaid cards for shopping, Senior Day Care, etc. All our programs are driven by volunteers. Due to the threat of decreasing number of volunteers in Poland, we must create safe hub for volunteering development in time of aging population and current war in Ukraine. Thanks to volunteers we help almost 8 thousand people a year.
Over past 10 years average number of volunteers decreased of 100% in Poland. According to the newest data one ngo has 5 volunteers a year. This builds a huge threat for them and their capacity to deliver needed support by ngo. Volunteers are crucial part of our foundation in delivering various support to over 500 vulnerable elderly people from small towns and rural areas in south Mazovia and close to 7000 Ukrainian refugees. Therefore, we need to create a safe hub for volunteering growth.
We develop Clementine volunteering program directed to youth and adults from Mazovia(Central Poland). Since beginning of 2021 we built a force of 173 volunteers supporting elderly people and Ukrainian refugees through everyday visits, various activities for children, running food aid programs, prepaid cards for shopping, etc. Our aim is to educate a new generation of people, who find volunteering as life needed skills development though volunteering promotion, workshops, motivating and safe hub.
Building a new generation of volunteers mainly of youth will make our community more socially responsible. Volunteers themselves will develop skills needed in adult and professional life, such communication skills, time management, openness, team work and emotional stability. On the other hand, we will build resistance to the threat of delivering future support to people we help in time of population aging and war in Ukraine due to current trend in decrease of volunteers in Poland.
