We help children in Poland who have lost a parent or loved one: free therapy for families who cannot afford it, support for schools after a sudden death, and grief workshops for kids.
When a parent, sibling or grandparent dies, a child's world falls apart, and the adults around them often don't know what to say. Teachers rarely get any training in grief, so a grieving pupil can feel invisible in class. Specialist help exists, but a single therapy session costs about $57, out of reach for many Polish families after a loss. Left without support, grief in childhood can turn into anxiety, withdrawal and school problems that last for years.
We fund individual therapy with child grief specialists for families who cannot afford it. When a pupil or a pupil's parent dies, our team goes to the school to support the class and guide teachers on what to say and do. In psychoeducational workshops, children meet peers who understand them, learn to name their feelings and find ways to live with grief. We also run free webinars for teachers and parents.
Every child who loses someone close deserves an adult who stays beside them. Your gift funds therapy for children from families who cannot afford it, school interventions after a sudden death, and grief workshops. With timely support, a child can return to learning, friendships and play while carrying the memory of the person they lost. Teachers keep what they learn, so the next grieving pupil is met with understanding. For 15 years we have helped people in Poland live on after loss.
