Help us turn African children into changemakers Across Africa, millions of children are growing up surrounded by challenges but with limited opportunities to learn how to solve them. Green Guardians is changing that. Through inspiring storybooks, trained teachers and school-based leadership clubs, we are equiping over 1,000 children aged 11-15 from 20 pilot schools to think critically, work together and take positive action in their communities, building a new generation of African changemakers.
Across Africa, children grow up witnessing challenges such as environmental degradation, inequality, limited community resources, etc. Yet traditional education often gives them few opportunities to develop the leadership and problem-solving skills needed to respond. We believe children should not have to wait until adulthood to discover that they can make a difference. What if every African child grew up learning not only how to identify problems, but also how to become part of the solution?
Our approach is simple but powerful: Stories Leadership Learning Action Changemakers. Through illustrated storybooks, guided discussions, leadership challenges and community projects, children aged 11-15 learn to observe problems, understand their causes, collaborate, design solutions and take safe, responsible action. Trained teacher-facilitators guide the learning through Green Guardians Clubs. We have already trained and certified teachers and prepared 20 Green Guardians toolboxes.
We envision an Africa where every child grows up believing they have the ability and responsibility to contribute positively to society. Through Green Guardians, we want to nurture children who demonstrate integrity, empathy, creativity, collaboration and the courage to take responsible action. Our ambition is to expand from our first pilot schools to hundreds of schools across Africa, empowering children to become changemakers in their classrooms, families and communities.
