Green eyes project Uganda will engage 1000 students in 10 schools in Kamuli District to plant trees, establish school environmental clubs and inspire families and communities to care for the environment. The project will build on 100s of trees already planted and grow a long term movement for a greener Uganda
Uganda is losing many trees and green spaces while many children grow up without practical opportunities to participate in environmental protection. In Kamuli District, schools and communities need affordable ways to plant and care for trees and restore green spaces. Green eyes project Uganda responds by putting children at the centre of environmental action and giving them the knowledge, seedlings, and practical tools to become environmental stewards
CBIU will establish Green eyes environmental clubs in 10 schools and engage 1000 students in growing and planting. We will expand a tree nursery, provide seedlings and basic planting equipment, train students and teachers, transport seedlings to schools and follow up on planted trees. Each student will work towards planting 195 trees over five years, representing the 195 countries of the world and encouraging a spirit of global environmental responsibility
Green eyes project will create a generation of young environmental stewards who understand that protecting nature is their responsibility. The first phase will reach 1000 students in 10 schools. Each participating student will work towards planting 195 trees over 5 years. As students involve their parents and communities, the project will grow into a wider movement for green schools, communities and a healthier environment
