This project centres on the supply of green energy to power Riders for Health Cold-chain warehouse in fulfillment of two main objectives; reduction of global warming, and supplying of constant energy to the warehouse in other to maintain the integrity of the vaccines stored for healthcare provision in Abuja and the North Central region of Nigeria
Over the years, Nigeria has been deficient in energy supply. It isn't easy to render services such as storing temperature-sensitive commodities without compromising commodity integrity. In addition, the adoption of green energy, which is part of the SDGs, is one of how global warming and other environmentally related issues can be reduced. The warehouse is designed to serve about twenty million population within the North-Central region of Nigeria including women and children.
By providing Solar-powered energy to support the present energy source, constant electricity will be guaranteed to power the warehouse and thus ensure that the potency of the vaccines being administered to the people of the region is protected, and at the same time contribute, in our little way, to the protection of the planet Earth in compliance with goals seven and by extension goal thirteen of the sustainable development goals of United Nation.
The project will enable Riders for Health to serve five million people through efficient and reliable vaccine storage facility
