Talented, passionate GlobalGiving volunteers visit our project partners worldwide each summer. They spend 4-5 days with each project, conducting an in-depth organisational assessment. They also provide digital communications and fundraising support to help our partners grow. The volunteers help us to fulfil an essential duty - checking how donor money is being spent on the ground; and to fulfil our mission - helping grassroots projects to thrive. They are entirely self funded.
GlobalGiving want grassroots projects to thrive. Our partners have big hearts but small wallets (just like us). We want them to do the best possible work for those they serve. To do this they need not only money, but skills and knowledge. The Evaluation Programme, using talented volunteers, helps us to build a in-depth picture of their strengths and challenges and help them grow for the long term.
Our volunteers will complete high quality external audit reports for each of the projects they visit. They will provide them with in-the-field support in areas such as fundraising, digital communications and professional networks. After the visits GlobalGiving will offer relevant follow up support, training and resources through our Peer Learning Network for maximum sustained impact from the visits.
Each grassroots project visited will benefit from increased awareness of their work; new funds from UK donors, better online fundraising and communications skills. They will also benefit from informed ideas, thoughts, reflections and recommendations to further improve their work - with free resources and follow up. The volunteers will benefit from intensive training in working effectively with grassroots projects, an incredible immersive experience in the field and new learning for life
