Dear friends,
The annual roundup of our bison herd started on November 6 and lasted for almost one week. Our team of experts successfully provided veterinary checkups to 216 animals. This was a truly collaborative event, with over 25 local community members participating in the evaluation of the herd´s health.
In the coming days, together with partners from the private sector, we will create the second bison conservation herd in the country—19 bison from the original herd will be relocated to a private conservation reserve in the state of Coahuila. More info on this effort to bring the American bison back to its former distribution coming soon!
In other news, on November 16 our golden eagle conservation team participated in the 7th Native Corn Fair that took place in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato Biosphere Reserve. This was a great opportunity for our team to display our biological monitoring efforts in the region among the local communities.
Please consider renewing your support for this project, every one of your donations is critical to our conservation efforts.
Sincerely,
Francisco Ehrenberg
