Empowering Deaf Youth through Graphic Design Lab

At Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF), we believe that skills create dignity, confidence, and opportunity. Through the Empowering Deaf Youth through Graphic Design Lab project, we are building real pathways for Deaf youth to enter the digital and professional workforce.

Our training programs go beyond basic IT. Deaf youth are learning practical, in-demand skills including graphic design, artificial intelligence basics, Shopify store management, and e-commerce operations. These skills are carefully selected to match current market needs and the learning strengths of Deaf individuals, ensuring accessibility and long-term relevance.

As training progresses, we are already witnessing meaningful outcomes. Several participants have transitioned from learning to earning. Deaf youth trained through DWAF are now gaining employment and internships in textile units, electronics businesses, restaurants, and grocery chains. Others are supporting small businesses through digital services such as product listings, design work, and online sales support.

Beyond employment, this project is creating confidence. Participants are communicating more openly, working in teams, and seeing themselves as capable professionals rather than dependents. Families have shared how these opportunities are changing attitudes at home and in the community.

This project is not just about skills—it is about inclusion, independence, and recognition. By equipping Deaf youth with relevant digital and business skills, DWAF is helping them build sustainable livelihoods and a future where they are valued for their abilities.
