Zahida, a 14-year-old Deaf girl from a small town in Punjab, had long lived in isolation—unable to access education or communicate effectively with others outside her home. When she joined our Deaf Girls Empowerment Program six months ago, she could not read, write, or use sign language. Today, Zahida is confidently communicating in Pakistan Sign Language, reading basic Urdu texts, and operating a computer independently. She recently completed a vocational training course in stitching and embroidery, and proudly contributed handmade items for our community exhibition.
Zahida’s personal growth is just one of many success stories we’ve witnessed this quarter. In total, 24 Deaf girls are currently enrolled in our program. Out of these, 90% have achieved basic literacy milestones, and 70% have completed at least one vocational skill module. We've also trained 3 new sign language instructors and held 2 community sensitization workshops, reaching over 150 parents and community members to promote understanding and inclusion.
The long-term impact of our work is already visible: families are becoming more supportive, girls are gaining confidence, and communities are beginning to view Deafness not as a limitation, but as a unique identity deserving of equal opportunity.
Your support is not just funding lessons—it's transforming lives, building futures, and breaking down barriers that have kept girls like Zahida in silence for far too long. Together, we are creating sustainable, inclusive change.
