Our Good Education for 3,000 DRC Children project is now moving from planning into implementation. The project aims to support 3,000 primary school children in six partner schools in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo who have experienced major disruptions to their education. Through storytelling, puppet theatre, and reading support sessions held at least twice a month during school hours, children will have opportunities to rebuild their reading skills, regain confidence, and rediscover the joy of learning.
At this stage, we have not yet received project funding, and no project activities have been reported as completed. We are currently identifying and preparing the local teenagers who will serve as facilitators, as well as the children and schools that will participate. Twelve local high school students will be trained to lead the sessions and encourage younger children through stories, games, reading activities, and creative expression. The total project budget is $35,000, and mobilizing these funds is the key priority before full implementation can begin.
We believe this project can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who have had too few opportunities to read, play, imagine, and learn in a supportive environment. Our goal is not only to help children catch up academically, but also to strengthen their confidence and their connection to learning. We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving for providing a platform that connects local organizations like ours with donors around the world. We now invite individuals, foundations, and partners to join us in funding this initiative. Every contribution, whatever its size, will help us move closer to reaching 3,000 children with meaningful educational support. Thank you to everyone who believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a better future.
