Gondwana Rainforest Trust is dedicated to protecting the future of the world's rainforests by implementing conservation programs to purchase, protect, and restore endangered rainforests. In partnership with Traditional Owners, the trust purchases high conservation value rainforest and restores degraded rainforest to ensure the ongoing protection and management of these critically important ecosystems.
Gondwana Rainforests are globally significant ecosystems that are under threat from habitat loss, fragmentation, invasive species, and climate change.
By purchasing high conservation value properties and restoring degraded land, we safeguard biodiversity. We work with partners, including Traditional Owners, government agencies, and other not-for-profit organisations to develop our rainforest refuges system and achieve our conservation goals. A key outcome of the program is to protect rainforests that have environmentally and culturally compatible spiritual, scientific research, educational, recreational, and visitor opportunities.
This work will create resilient, connected rainforest landscapes that support thriving biodiversity, store carbon, protect water catchments, and provide critical habitat for endangered species. Healthy, restored rainforests will be better equipped to withstand climate change, ensuring these ancient ecosystems, and the life they sustain, can flourish for generations to come.
