Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing goats to women farmers in order to increase their incomes. Goats are easy to raise, eats only grasses and are prolific. Goats also command high price and this is great news. The meat is sought after because it has less fat. This reporting period, we initiate the growing of different forage grasses for the goats because the problem of local raisers is always the lack of forage for their animals. There are cases when neighbors quarrel because of competition with pasture in the area. We were able to raise 3 varieties of grasses with the aim of providing planting materials to farmers later on. Again thank you very much.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances Uy

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your support to our initiative providing goats for women's nutrition and income. The project is important because women farmers find it easy to take good care of goats as well as the animals are easy to grow, hardy in the changing climate and the female provides offspring once or twice a year. We are happy to report that our system of the owner passing on offspring to other recipients is getting good results. This project period we are able to pass on 15 goats to second line beneficiaries. We are able also to demonstrate to goat raisers the importance of growing mixed food and fodder crops. For example sweet potato wherein they are able to get the crop and the leaves are eaten by their goats. Hoping for your continuing support. Thank you very much.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances Uy

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing goats to poor women in order to improve their nutrition and income. This initiative remains the most important for our work here because goats are easy to raise and the demand for meat and milk in the market is always high. One of the problems faced by women goat raisers is the lack of highly nutritious forage crops for the goats. Fully realizing this problem, we provided them with improved grasses planted in our demonstration farms in order for goat raisers to have access to planting materials. We were able to grow 15 types of highly nutritious forage and we hope to distribute them in the next few months. Again thank you very much for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Uy

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing goats for women in order to improve their nutrition and income. We are happy to note that support to this project is on-going and our leaders concerned with agriculture is keen on multiplying this. They see the benefit of raising goats because the animals are easy to raise and do not require much food only grasses in order to grow and multiply. Goat meat also is a delicacy and sought-after in local restaurants and during festivities. This reporting period we promoted to farmers the growing of local grasses that have high nutritional value as feed for the goats. Seeds of these grasses are difficult to procure and we used your support in order to purchase them for distribution. We were able to reach-out to 32 farmers in this way. Hoping for your continuing support. Thank you so much.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances

Providing forage source

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your continuing support to our initiative promoting goat raising for women's nutrition and income. The raising of goats is one of the best recovery effort for farmers especially women because goats are prolific, easy to raise and do not require much purchased food in order for them to grow. They thrive on grasses around the farm so they are cheap to raise. This reporting period thanks also to local supporters, we were able to promote agro-reforestation and enjoin farming families to raise fruit and timber trees including the raising of forage-type trees and grasses for feed to the goats. There are instances that neighbors quarrel because of competition in grazing areas and access to forage and we want to prevent this. We were able to provide 20 goat raisers with initial supply of seedlings for this purpose. Again, thank you very much.

Very sincerely yours,

Michelle Frances Uy
