Dear Friends,
We are happy to present our progress report of the project 'Goat for Livelihood support for Poor Women’ started by Azad India Foundation. We identify the potential women beneficiaries who have no financial support and give them goats to supplement their income.
We had given 1 pair of goats to Hamida from village Sathbolia, Block Pothia at the inception of the project. She has three children without any steady source of income. She works as a landless labor during the time of the cultivation.
AIF team revisited her home after three months. During Covid pandemic, Hamida sold two goats for Rs 6000 for buying ration and food supplies. The goats provided her with the source of income during the time of the crisis. She still has 5 goats whom she looks after with care. Hamida is an inspiration for her community.
We need the funds to reach out to many more women like Hamida.
Donating now will enable us to purchase goats at a fair price and ensure that the women receive the best breed. Goats are bought locally as their chances of survival are highest in Kishanganj.
Warm Regards,
