We are happy to present our progress report of the project 'Goat for Livelihood support for Poor Women’ which started six months back by Azad India Foundation. We identified the potential women beneficiaries who had no financial support and gave goats to three women from marginalized families.
We have given goat to Ansara from the village Marya She has 3 sons and one daughter and work in the fields to support her family. Her young sons suffer from some genetic disorder due to which they are immobile below their waist. Her husband Rafique is a labor but spends most of him time carrying his sons around.
Surajnisa from the village Shafkat Nagar is a divorcee who has no support system. Hanufa from the village Shafkat Nagar stays with her husband who is blind and unable to work. She has 3 daughters and 2 sons.
The income from the goat will provide additional funds in the long run to the families.
We need the funds to reach out to many more women like Ansara, Surajnisa and Hanufa.
Donating now will enable us to purchase goats at a fair price and ensure that the women receive the best breed. Goats are bought locally as their chances of survival are highest in Kishanganj.
