PIFBS Makes a Big Move at the End of 2022

By Michael Moran | Director of Strategic Partnerships

Over the last few years, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball has been working tirelessly to meet the increased need for equipment globally. Through the strong commitment of our staff, volunteers, and supporters, PIFBS has been able to rise to the occasion and provide gear to hundreds of thousands of underserved youth around the world. Many programs would not have been able to hold a season these past few years if it was not for our equipment contributions. In 2022 alone, PIFBS donated close to 25,000 baseball and softball gloves to children in need. This only compounds to the thousands of other equipment items distributed to these programs. Over 140,000 kids received equipment from us this past year. As always, we are extremely proud of the number of children we have been able to serve on an annual basis, and it is supporters like you that make this possible!

In preparation to serve another record number of kids in 2023, PIFBS moved their headquarters to Warminster, PA in December of 2022. This is a monumental event in our organizational history, for this move to a larger space will enable us to support more children than ever before. It is just crazy to think about how much we have grown over the last 15 years. PIFBS started with our founder fulfilling grants out of his garage following Hurricane Katrina. Now, just over a decade later, we are fulfilling grants out of our 12,500 sq/ft warehouse facility. It is always fun to reflect on how we have arrived at this point. Our recent growth is likely something our founders could have never imagined, and it is all thanks to you! We would be nothing without the generosity of our supporters.

With our new warehouse space and growing operations team, we are looking to have another record year in 2023. While it will be difficult to significantly surpass the massive amount of equipment donated in 2022, we are more than willing to accept to challenge of growing those figures each year. With our new facility and resources, we truly believe it is possible, but we will also need help from you! To meet the exact needs of the groups we serve, we must continuously purchase equipment to fill the gaps in our inventory. Dollars raised here will be used directly for that purpose. This allows us to maintain our standard of never turning away a group in need of equipment. We want to ensure all beneficiaries are getting the equipment they need to increase participation in a safe and enjoyable manner. Everyone at PIFBS is excited to get to work in 2023, and we look forward to sharing impact stories from our grantees with you following the spring season!
