Pitch In For Baseball & Softball (PIFBS) exists to remove equipment as a barrier to play for underprivileged kids around the world. On an annual basis, PIFBS donates more than 160,000 pieces of equipment through 1200 equipment grants, helping 175,000 kids play ball.

Of all equipment, a glove is not only necessary but it's deeply personal, molded to the owners hand and is taken with a player throughout their baseball/softball journey. Of the 160k+ pieces of equipment, nearly 35,000 gloves are donated. Nearly 40% of the kids PIFBS serves each year are first time players, which means more kids and families that need to purchase a glove which can be a big investment for our target demographic. More kids playing and being introduced to the game is a good thing and ultiimately means more children accessing a game PIFBS believes helps with development and growth.

At the mid point of the year, PIFBS is well on track to exceed those numbers in 2026. As equipment costs continue to climb and the economy slow, families are struggling and having to reassess expenses. Equipment is a solvable problem and Pitch In For Baseball & Softball is committed to ensuring that all kids have the gear they need to participate.
