Dear Friends and Family,
It has been an incredibly packed spring semester! Most notably, we recently wrapped up our programming for social justice week in which we co-hosted panels, speakers, and screening events addressing the interdisciplinary topic of social change. We also hosted our first pop-up macaroon sale and a benefit night at a local restaurant. Our new members are quickly immersing themselves in their GlobeMed experience by planning two new campaigns for the remaining portion of our spring semester!
We are also excited to announce that we have selected the new cohort of GROW Interns for this upcoming summer. They recently returned from Chicago where they spent the weekend connecting with interns from other chapters and learning skills to best foster our partnership with UDHA.
Finally, we are looking forward to a full end of the semester with the rest of our fundraising campaigns and advocacy events. Our members are currently planning an art auction, frozen banana sales, a few benefit nights, and Individual Giving among many other events. We are also partnering with the Institute for Public Health, the Brown School, and St. Louis City on their Gun Violence Prevention Initiative. This is an incredible opportunity for our chapter to involve ourselves more directly in the local community and establish a larger network of interdisciplinary institutions.
The staff members of GlobeMed at Washington University in St. Louis and of Uganda Development and Health Associates are so grateful for your help in this past year. Without you, we would not be able to achieve our goals and make such concrete differences in people’s lives. We thank you sincerely for your continued support.
In Solidarity,
GlobeMed at Washington University in St. Louis
