When we talk about empowerment, activities related with training and sharing knowledge plays a vital role. As we planned to extend our activities related with the study of climate change through mobilizing students in various schools, the teachers of the school where programs will be implemented must be empowered. Hence, a teachers training on study of climate change was organized from 2nd April to 4th April at Dalchoki VDC of Lalitpur District. 14 teachers from 7 different schools located in various VDC’s of Southern Lalitpur, actively participated in the training program.

During the training various topics related with climate changes were shared and discussed. The participants were also capacitated in order to note the data on various protocols related with climate and local environment. How to identify the type of cloud and its coverage in sky, measuring the Ph Value, conductivity and transparency of water, max & min temperature, pointing GPS coordinate of the location on earth etc were shared during the training program.

“This training is very new to me and as the contents in this training program required hands-on involvement, I really learned a lot through participating in this program. As a science teacher, now I am very confident to teach practical topics related with environment and climate change to my students. Mr. Rajendra Lama, teacher of Shree Bhagbhairab Sec. School, Chaughare VDC, Laitpur District, expressed his confidence after the training program.

All the participating schools were equipped with the tools and materials required to collect the data related with hydrology and atmosphere protocol.

We thank you for your support and believing in us. Updates of our activities are also regularly posted in our Facebook page, Blog, Youtube Channel and on Twitter. We look forward towards your valuable response, suggestions and comments regarding our work.

Regards,

Angel Chitrakar
