Orientation on Safe Drinking Water for Students
Orientation on Safe Drinking Water for Students

Through Climate learning program we are advocating students of different schools to aware them on different environmental topics and issues related with atmosphere, hydrology, soil science and canopy cover. Our activities in this program mainly includes field based survey, samplings, data generating, analyzing and concluding the data for organizing further advocacy programs in school and community level. Since the beginning of this program, as we trained the students from four schools to collect data on various protocols related with hydrology of nearby river, we organized an advocacy program for students of these schools through analyzing the data. A group of 6 youth volunteers were mobilized in fifteen schools to share the outcome of analyzed data with the students of grade 6 to 9 and facilitate towards taking some initiation of activities to aware others.

During the orientation program various issues and facts related with water like health & water borne diseases, ways of water contamination & pollution etc were shared with the students. Water purification methods such as gas chlorination, RO/UV filter, Tulip Filter boiling, candle filter, SODIS, and WATASOL etc were discussed. The discussions made with the students towards their role on initiating preventive measures for water pollution and contamination encouraged the students to identify various advocacy activities and take initiation through their children club in their community and residential periphery. By the end of the program, students in every school prepared an action plan of activities through their club to act on water related issues in their school.

Finally urging the students to implement the learning's of the class in their daily lives, facilitators wrapped up the classes, with a message, "If you want the change, you should initiate the change."

We would like to express sincere thanks to you for your help and supporting us to bring change in our schools and the students through our programs. Without YOUR SUPPORT we would not have been able to bring the changes. Furthermore, we would like to request you to share the information of our project within your friends and families network in order to receive continuous support for funding the program in other schools. We would like to request you to like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to get our tweets regarding our programs and activities.

Looking forward towards your valuable suggestions and comments regarding our works.

Thanks & regards

Angel Chitrakar
