The year 2025 has been one of major transitions for the association. Unfortunately, in recent years it has become increasingly difficult for social initiatives to secure funding from grant programs. Even though we have repeatedly managed to finance our projects—and thus our job positions—thanks to our amazing team, we, too, have had to face some tough cuts. As a result, we have had to say goodbye, for the time being, to our team members Dominik and Marie, as we were no longer able to fund their positions.
Fortunately, we were able to hire Felicia Duschek as of March 15, 2025. Since March, she has been managing the day-to-day operations of Pen Paper Peace and is also supporting our new project, in which we are creating accompanying materials for our wonderful educational computer game “Jeanne’s Journey.” Felicia has been a long-time volunteer with us and holds a B.A. in Social and Cultural Anthropology and History from Freie Universität Berlin. Her focus lies particularly on postcolonialism and global learning.
Another fantastic project is also about to launch: With the project “Dancing Stars,” we aim to raise awareness among students and educators about mental health, with a special focus on ADHD. Starting in June, the project will be guided by Rafael, a true expert in this field. We remain incredibly grateful for every bit of volunteer support and financial contribution to our association’s work.
Despite all the changes, we are moving forward! Thank you so much for your support!
