Right now, 345 million people around the world are facing acute food insecurity. Among the hardest hit are 22 million people in the Horn of Africa - Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. The worst drought in over 40 years, combined with grain shortages from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, has resulted in a growing humanitarian crisis unfolding before our eyes. The land is bone dry. Livestock are dying. Crops are failing.

Food crises have emerged time and again in the Horn of Africa, but the current hunger crisis in the region is exceptional and is expected to be the worst in decades.
Donations to the Global Hunger Crisis Appeal will help provide emergency assistance for people around the globe who are experiencing hunger and food insecurity. That support may include: Humanitarian assistance to people experiencing hunger and food insecurity - including food, health, water and sanitation, cash and voucher assistance Specialist aid workers to assist local teams to respond to the crisis Program support and monitoring and evaluation costs of the assistance provided
Food crises in the Horn of Africa are not new, but today, these countries are heading for catastrophe. Some 22 million people in the Horn of Africa are in the clutches of starvation.
