Hello friends of TIGed!
This report contains our most recent progress report and continuing to support TIG’s Global Education Project. To date, your donations have helped educators from Argentina, Sierra Leone, Nepal, and Kenya receive scholarships that have enabled them to participate in our e-courses. The most recent recipient is a young educator from India, named Manthan.
In our last report, we introduced you to Manthan – one of our most enthusiastic e-course participants who was awaiting the start of his Education for Environmental Stewardship class. Now, as his e-course is in full swing, each week, Manthan expresses his passion for building awareness of environmental issues and learning more about how to communicate human impact on the environment to youth in his community. He feels that through his privileged role in working with youth in his rural village of Balghat, he can play a major role in helping them realize that they too can make a difference:
“Our habits and our development plans are not in favor of environment. Unplanned development activities and our small habits [are] making the problem. Both issues are very much related with [c]hildren and youths. Education is must for children and children can do lots for save the environment”.
We hope that upon reading Manthan’s sentiments, you are able to understand your part in enabling some of his hopes for environmental education to be realized, and that your continued concern and support not only provide Manthan with an education, but the hundreds of youth with whom he works.
If you would like to extend your generosity to other inspiring educators around the world, know that a donation as little as $25 will allow an educator just like Manthan, to take part in one of the five online sessions of our e-courses. We thank you warmly for continued your generosity and for the important part you have played in advancing global and environmental education worldwide!
