Dear Supporters,
In the news we are all focused on COVID-19 and yes this global pandemic is far from over and causing us a huge speed bump in our daily lives but have we forgotten about other global issues?
It is time for us all to stop, listen and act otherwise our children will not have a bright future. Global Warming and climate change has been a huge topic and we have an enormous amount of information at our fingertips but people today still believe it will not affect them in their lifetime and this is the wrong attitude - you are killing our people, wildlife and habitat!
Over the past few years we have seen more and more young people take that stand and become activists to influence change and we all need to listen and get behind our future generation as they are right.
It was great to see a unique eco-choir take to a popular TV talent show recently to plea to the audience ‘us’ to ‘take note, change the story of our future’ by acting now on climate change. As they sing “There’s only one world for us to share” it’s time for us to realise our responsibility and duty in life to protect our planet. You can watch their song here
Scientists have provided us with so much information but we are all yet to act, why? We know that the concentration of carbon pollution caused by humans has nearly doubled in 60 years and simply paying a fee to plant a tree when you jump on a plane with 4 engines is not enough.
We know that the situation we face today is critical and we are at a point that we can never recover from however it isn’t too late and we have one more chance but we all need to work together. It is possible for us to slow down our current pollution rates and if we achieve this allow our children, wildlife and planet not to die.
It is time for us all to listen and stand beside our youths to tackle this long standing global issue. We must listen to youths like the ‘eco-choir SOS from the Kids’ and other youth activists like Greta Thunberg, aged 16 from Sweden. Greta started her protest outside Parliament in Sweden that led to the largest student protest movement strike against climate change in history in 2019. From this she took a zero-emissions sailing boat across from Sweden to New York where she joined 60,000 people on a climate action match before going to give the opening speech at the United Nations General Assembly. Her speech that will always be remembered “This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be standing here. I should be back at school on the other side of the ocean, yet you all come to me for hope? How dare you. You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”
Greta is just one of a huge line of youths that are calling for us to stand with them and help them have a more stable future. We are in this together, just like COVID-19 this is global.
It’s time to act now… so what can you do? Firstly we all need to change our mindset, like with COVID, it can be done. Walk to the shop, don't drive, before booking any flights no matter how far in the future do you know what aircraft you will be going on? Is it a traditional 747 4 engine plane or a new eco twin engine plane? Even a twin engine your responsibility doesn’t end there, it is important you offset your footprint further and think about public transport to and from the airport. As they say every little counts… we are in this together!
Please support our carbon mitigation project to help increase resources for developing communities to become carbon neutral but remember your responsibility doesn’t end here
Thank you,
With Gratitude,
