Climate Crisis: Tackling Our Carbon Footprint

Dear Supporters,

Over Valentines Day we ran a campaigne "From Little Seeds, Grows Mighty Trees."

Every year, 200 Million plus roses are purchased on Valentines Day, with a sad average life span of 4 short days. There are 6 billion people on earth and only 3 trillion trees, this leaves us with around 500 trees per person which is not even close to the 1102 trees needed per person to offset their carbon footprint annually. 

This year, instead of buying a rose, our donors offset their loved ones carbon footprint with a tree! One tree offsets about 40lbs of Carbon a year and it lasts a lifetime! 

We raised a total of $279.75 and were able to partner up with Greenpop, a local South African award winning Non-Profit Organisation. They plant trees through urban greening and reforestation projects and spread environmental awareness. Greenpop envisage a world where green spaces and green living are POPular and accessible to everyone. 

All funds raised were donated to Greenpop and 28 trees were planted! Greenpop makes sure the tree is monitored for a minimum of 2 years to ensure that it survives and thrives in its new home.

28 trees, Thats 1120lbs of Carbon Offset in a year and will continue to Offset for a lifetime! 

We would love to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that chose a tree over roses this year, you have made an incredible difference! You have given your loved one the gift of a greener world and that is something special!
