Supply Our Students

Thank you to our generous donors who have ensured that Glenwood Academy students are equipped with the supplies they need in class and extracurricular activities this past school year. We are excited to report that because of the generosity of a local business, Glenwood is stocked enough with supplies for the 2015-2016 academic year. Therefore, we are ending this very successful online campaign.

In July, The Cellular Connection of Homewood (TCC) donated 60 backpacks filled with school supplies to Glenwood Academy's elementary school students. TCC is the largest authorized Verizon retailer in the country and opened a new location in Homewood in August.

TCC's backpack donation comes as a part of its larger "Culture of Good" program, an initiative in which the company gives back to every community where it does business. The Culture of Good includes three additional annual programs: providing canned goods to local food banks, giving supply packs to 3,500 teachers nationally, and volunteering time to improve the environment.

"As a new store, TCC Homewood was eager to immediately begin a Culture of Good in Chicago's Southland region," said store manager Patrick Cagle. "Partnering with Glenwood Academy gave us a greate start in making a difference in our community."

In addition to the backpack donation, TCC Homewood gave Glenwood Academy a special $500 contribution in honor of the store's grand opening. The contribution will be used to further Glenwood's mission of providing a residential academic experience students who need it most.
