How are you holding up these days?
As it comes to our awareness, Covid-19 has thrown us a few curveballs (again). Current events are overwhelming, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and finding comfort despite all the upheaval.
Back when the outbreak was well-contained from March to April, we were able to complete the "Giving Well University Tour 2021 - Invest in the Future'' with the NPO Fair full-day event as the grand finale where NPOs connected and shared information with students at the venue of Fulbright University. Through 4 workshops at our 4 partnered universities: Hoa Sen, University of Economic & Finance, Ton Duc Thang University and Fulbright University Vietnam with participation of more than 1,200 students, the success of this year's tour has not only been described with those numbers but also the inspirational stories coming after the tour ends. These sharings are precious to us - the people who try to raise awareness about philanthropy and giving back to the community in Vietnam.
One of the stories belongs to a student named N.P. who participated in the workshop during the Giving Well University Tour and now becomes Program Assistant at Headway - an organization nurturing the social initiatives of Vietnamese students. “After participating in the Giving Well University Tour with LIN at Fulbright University, you have helped me get a better idea on what a true and comprehensive way to become a philanthropist”, she said proudly. After the workshop and on her journey later, she found Headway organisation whose vision merges with hers - Philanthropy, Education and Sustainability.
Another story which is not less interesting, Q.T.D from Climate Fresk - a fun, participatory and creative workshop that aims at raising awareness on climate change, was one of the participants at NPO Fair. Through the event, he connected with Fulbright University Vietnam to organize a session with Fulbright students about climate change issues in Vietnam and got positive feedback at the end. He also connected with Hoa Sen University representatives from our introduction and they will discuss the potential climate change session at Hoa Sen University when the lockdown is over. In addition to this, he is also currently volunteering to NGOs like Change and the Bamboo Center, two NPOs presented at the NPO Fair.
