The ripple effect of consistent meals

Dear friends, donors, and interested people,

We're already into Q4 and the next GlobalGiving giving Tuesday is rapidly approaching on December 1st - how time flies!

Since the last report in June, our fundraising total has risen from $3000 to $5260. This directly translates into meals provided so, together, our incredible donors have now provided over 5000 meals to children who need them the most. This project taken across the world, to name a few places: Kenya, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Zimbabwe. This shows so well the breadth of impact which a donation has: 5 minutes spent donating from your mobile phone sends money to the other side of the world and does amazing work.

Providing free meals to those in need may seem like a simple concept which has no effect beyond keeping a stomach full. However, that is only the start of the story. Here is how the process comes alive: a child receives a nutritious, filling meal > they are able to focus at school > they enjoy learning more and become more succesful > they are able to fulfill the potential of their education > they can access better jobs. On a large scale this means upskilling an entire community. This is the ripple effect of a donation to this project.

Although the fight isn't over yet, time for this project is running out so donations are needed now.

Meals Bring Smiles

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Back in February we set ourselves a Big Hairy Audacious Goal. 40,000 extra meals for children in Brazil by the end of 2026. We said we could do it with your help. And you showed up.

Since that report you have helped us fund 3,000 meals. Three thousand times a child sat down at school with a full plate in front of them instead of an empty stomach. That is not nothing. That is everything. Thank you.

But we have 37,000 meals still to go and 6 months to do it. So we need to pick up the pace and we need you with us.

Here is where we are. Every single school day we are feeding 9,000 children across Brazil. For most of them this is the only proper meal they will eat all day. When that meal is there, they learn. They stay in school. They get to just be kids. When it is not there, they sit in class hungry and everything is harder. It really is that simple.

So here is our challenge to you this month. Can you be the reason 10 more children eat today? That is just $10. A class of 25 kids? That is $25. One child fed every school day for a month? $30. These are not big numbers but the impact is enormous and every single donation moves us closer to that 40,000 goal.

And if you really want to make a difference, going monthly is the single best thing you can do. A monthly donation lets us plan ahead, buy food in bulk, and make every dollar stretch further. It is the engine that keeps this whole thing running.

SAVE THE DATE: July 15 and 16 is GlobalGiving Bonus Day. Every donation of $100 or more gets proportionally matched with bonus funds. This is the moment to go big. If you have been sitting on the fence, this is your sign. Let us use Bonus Day to smash through the next 10,000 meals together.

40,000 More Reasons to Give: Our Biggest Goal Yet!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are officially 10 months away from the end of 2026, and we have set ourselves a "Big Hairy Audacious Goal." This year, we aren't just looking to maintain our current feeding programs—we want to go further. We want to fund an extra 40,000 meals for children in need.

Can we do it? With your help, we know the answer is YES.

The Mission: Fighting Hunger Every Day

Currently, we feed 9,000 children every single day, five days a week. For many of these students, the nutrient-rich, high-protein meal they receive at school is the only food they will eat all day.

We’ve seen the results firsthand: when children aren't hungry, they can focus. They learn better, they stay in school longer, and they have the energy to just be kids. But the need is growing, and we refuse to turn a child away because the pot is empty.

The 40,000 Meal Challenge

Adding 40,000 meals to our program is a huge undertaking, but when you break it down, the impact of a single donation is staggering:

$10 funds 10 school meals today.
$25 funds school dinners for a whole class of 25.
$30 funds a daily meal for one month for a child.
$1,800 funds an entire day of cooking for 1,800 children.

How You Can Help (Beyond Donating)

We have 10 months to hit this target, and we need to start making noise now. Here is how you can be a champion for our children:

Be a "Table Starter": Forward this report to three friends or family members who care about child nutrition.
Shout About It: Share our GlobalGiving link on your social media. Sometimes, all it takes is one person seeing a story to start a wave of giving.
Go Monthly: Small, recurring donations are the "engine room" of this project. They allow us to plan ahead and buy food in bulk, making every dollar go further.
