We offer integral treatment and emotional support to children born with cleft lip palate and their families so they can develop a quality life project. Its treatment consists of 5-6 high-quality surgeries needed to correct the physical malformation; 12 years of adequate dentist and orthodontics treatment to preserve the oral health and maxillary growth; and 3 or 4 years of speech therapy to guarantee that the language will be perfect, which will allow children to integrate and succeed at school.
Children born with a cleft have problems beyond their physical appearance. If they dont receive integral treatment they risk having language problems affecting his/her learning, socialization and a lot of developmental problems. Socio-emotional impairment negatively influences their social skills and active integration into society. In summary, a child born with a cleft with appropriate treatment has a future like any other, however, the same child without treatment becomes a dysfunctional one.
Our rehabilitation treatment for cleft lip and palate children and their families includes plastic surgery, otolaryngology, speech therapy, dentistry, psychology, audiology, and genetics. Fisulab conducts workshops for parents to provide emotional and cognitive tools, allowing them to lead in the rehabilitation process. Also, we offer children's stimulation and language workshops to secure language development and pre-natal for the families to accept childrens' condition.
Each child who develops all his / her potential is an adult who contributes to building a better society, as we do at Fisulab. Otherwise, every child who does not reach their potential and has special needs throughout their lives will become a burden on their environment.
